Busamed Hospital Group

Busamed Hospital Group has partnered with Pelo Foundation to perform surgeries and offer treatment to children with Congenital Heart Disease.

The award-winning, proudly South African private hospital group, providing specialist services in seven state-of-the art hospitals across the country will accommodate children at two of their facilities, Busamed Modderfontein Private Hospital in Gauteng and Busamed Paardevlei Private Hospital in the Western Cape.

Where a child has been admitted to the hospital, the hospital will also house the accompanying parent or a legal guardian. The hospital group will provide its facilities for the use of Cath labs, cardiothoracic theatres, medical equipment, as well as the paediatric ICU sisters, nurses and supporting specialists needed for the project.

Wings and Wishes are saving children’s lives, one trip at a time. They provide transport for critically & chronically ill children to receive the medical care they need. The organisation established in 2006, is assisting Pelo Foundation to transport children and an accompanying guardian to reach any Busamed Private Hospital that has been earmarked to perform the children’s surgeries. Wings and Wishes transport the children no matter where they live.

On average 3 children and an accompanying adult are transported 7 days a week, 365 days a year to receive lifesaving care. Many are repeat, chronically ill patients who desperately rely on Wings & Wishes to help them continue with the battle of overcoming their illnesses – to live and fight for every day.

Wings & Wishes is all about building relationships. Their work is based on the relationships, which we have with medical staff at the various hospitals in South Africa. It is also based on the relationships, which we build with the families that they assist – and the children that crawl into their hearts.

Wings & Wishes – giving wings to children throughout South Africa to get better and lead healthy normal lives.
